A summary of funding provided by the Trust to Wellington lesbian communities, 1 April 2002 to 31 March 2016
Commencing in the Trust’s first full financial year, ending on 31 March 2003, the Trust has provided financial support to a wide variety of groups and individuals. All of the activities and events undertaken by the recipients have been for the benefit of the lesbian communities of the Wellington region. Funding has been paid only from the Trust’s income from investments; none of the capital has been used for any payment. For the first four financial years, the DOODs Committee (Dykes Out Of Debt) administered the payment of funding, mainly to the Wellington Lesbian Radio Programme. In 2005 the Trust began to make funding available to community groups directly, through an application process, and since 1 April 2006 all funding has been by way of such grants. In its first 14 years of operation, 1 April 2002 to 31 March 2016, the Trust has paid out over $126,000 in support of community events and activities. Individual grants are itemised in each year’s annual report. Here we present a categorised summary of total amounts paid over the Trust’s first 14 years of operation.
